Authentication can be an intimidating topic, but we're clearing it up with our new NXT Authentication controls in Letter Box, Marketing Connector, and Engagement Tile.

Since these apps work on your behalf behind the scenes, we save one user as the NXT Authenticated User and the app uses the oAuth credentials provided by that user to make all the required Blackbaud Sky Api calls. This provides a common experience of the app for all users in your organization and allows the app to work in the background.

Where this can get confusing is if that NXT Authenticated user in not the current person using the app or if they leave your organization.

The new Auth Controls give you a tile in the app so you always know who the authenticated user is and allows you to change them at any time. Easy as!
